“Never to be yourself and yet always—that is the problem,”
-Virginia Woolf, “The Modern Essay”
On the Timeline page there is a prompt for the first three essays. Each essay will be published on your course blog. In addition, you will be writing a series of essays on a related topic or theme of your choice. Finally, you will be writing in a notebook: thinking about what you are reading, exploring thinking about the essay as a literary form, conducting writing exercises and experiments, keeping notes on possible essay themes, and drafting parts of your essays.
